Ryosuke
Fukusada

Born in Osaka in 1979, after graduating from the Kanazawa College of Art, he started working for Sharp Corporation as a consumer electronics designer and for Studio Urquiola in Milan. In 2012, he founded Fukusada Studio in Kyoto and, since then, Fukusada has offered a wide variety of designs for furniture, lighting, and household items, among others.

The design
process

In developing the Sekkei Handrail, Ryosuke focused on conveying the sensations evoked by the balance between softness and hardness. Thus, he decided to create different design iterations using 3D modeling to produce different realistic models instead of focusing on a specific idea.
