At Comenza, we continue to expand our range of accessories for aluminum profiles with solutions that optimize installation and improve the final result. The leveling gauges are a new component designed to ensure the correct leveling of profiles on uneven surfaces, allowing for a quick, simple, and precise setup, even on sloped slabs.
These U-shaped parts are installed in anchoring zones and feature a weakened section that enables controlled breakage, allowing for leveling in two directions: longitudinal and transversal.
Leveling gauges: accessories for aluminum profiles, ideal for uneven surfaces
Thanks to their design, Comenza’s leveling gauges allow for the correction of unevenness both along the length and width of the profile, ensuring the precision required by today’s projects. For a profile that is uneven longitudinally, the full gauge is inserted in the lowest area to restore alignment. When the unevenness is transversal, the gauge is inserted up to the cut zone and a slight upward pressure is applied to break it and achieve the desired level.
One of their main advantages is the ability to level in both directions at a single point, by combining a full gauge with a cut section. In addition to this combination, the pieces offer various adjustment options depending on the installation needs: using the full gauge, only the cut section, combining 1 mm and 2 mm thick gauges, or even overlapping them.
The result is a uniform seating of the profile that reduces torsion and stress on the glass. This is especially relevant in installations with annealed glass, which is more sensitive to mounting stresses. Small gaps may sometimes appear between the floor and the profile — a normal outcome of the leveling process that does not affect the system’s performance or aesthetic finish. By providing a solid and level base, these accessories for aluminum profiles also help increase the overall stability and rigidity of the system, minimizing movement.
Compatibility and advantages of leveling gauges
The GP-1401-1, GP-1401-2, GP-1701-1, and GP-1701-2 gauges are compatible with the SV-1401 and SV-1701 profiles, offering broad versatility within the GlassFit Flow range.
Each reference indicates the compatible profile and thickness, making it easy to select the appropriate option.
Key benefits include:
