500 metres of Comenza railings protect Madrid's new T4 bus station
Since its inauguration in 2006, Terminal 4 (T4) at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport has become an architectural and functional benchmark in the European airport landscape. T4 stands out for its innovative design of curved roofs, its use of natural light and its commitment to sustainability. This complex, made up of the main terminal and its satellite building T4S, has played a key role in the modernisation of the airport, consolidating it as one of the main hubs for air connections between Europe and Latin America.
In 2022, as part of Madrid’s transport infrastructure improvement plan, the T4 coach station, located on the northern plot of the P4 public car park, was remodelled. This space, conceived to improve the airport’s ground connectivity, has been designed to optimise the passenger experience, providing easier access to different intercity transport services and reinforcing the airport’s intermodality with the rest of the city and other regions.
More than 500 linear metres of Comenza’s GlassFit SV-1401 railing system have been installed in the T4 bus station at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport, a key space within the capital’s airport infrastructure. The integration of our solutions in this high-traffic environment reinforces Comenza’s commitment to safety, functionality and design in large-scale projects.
GlassFit SV-1401 system has been the solution chosen for this project thanks to its ability to guarantee maximum safety without sacrificing a modern and transparent aesthetic. It is a profile system for top-mounted glass railings, with internal drainage and designed for quick and precise installation from inside the structure, thanks to the LEVEL IN system. The system can be lacquered in a wide range of colours according to project requirements. Its versatility and ease of installation have made it possible to optimise execution times, ensuring an impeccable finish in an environment where every detail counts.
