In the design and execution of a glass railing, the system’s efficiency is as crucial as aesthetics or safety. The type of glass, span between supports, and ease of installation all have a direct impact on the overall performance of the project.
With this in mind, at Comenza we present the new version of the GlassFit Surface CC‑791 system, our side clamp for glass railings, which includes improvements aimed at optimizing system efficiency and glass cost, as well as simplifying installation, while maintaining Comenza’s own technical and design standards.
This update to the GlassFit CC‑791 is not driven by an aesthetic change, but by a technical evolution of the system, designed to rationalize resources, improve efficiency per linear meter, and facilitate on‑site execution, without compromising structural performance or regulatory reliability.
Compatible with annealed and tempered glass railings
One of the main differentiating advantages of the new version of the GlassFit CC‑791 is its compatibility with annealed glass, which allows for optimized glass usage in certain railing configurations within a framework of verified safety and functionality.
This option broadens the technical possibilities of the project and makes it easier to tailor the railing system to the specific requirements of each job, helping to rationalize resources while maintaining a reliable overall performance.
When tempered glass is used, the GlassFit CC‑791 can achieve large spans of up to 1700 mm, representing a significant improvement in the efficiency of the railing system.

This greater span capability results in:
-
a reduction in cost per linear meter of the system, due to fewer clamps being required.
-
a lower number of anchors to install.
-
a simplified on‑site installation process.
The result is a more efficient glass railing from a construction standpoint, with a more organized execution that aligns with the project’s schedules and requirements.
Main features of the GlassFit CC-791 system
The GlassFit CC‑791 is a side‑fixing system for glass railings made from stainless steel, designed to provide strength, durability, and a clean interior aesthetic.
The new version of the system:
-
Supports glass up to 21.52 mm.
-
Allows for wide span capabilities, improving system efficiency per linear meter.
-
Is available with a Black Finish PVD, expanding options for integration in contemporary architectural projects.
A system designed to simplify the installation of the railing.
In addition to glass optimization, the new version of the GlassFit CC-791 includes design features aimed at simplifying on-site work and reducing installation complexity.
The side clamp uses a single anchor point per clamp and does not require drilled glass. This approach supports a quicker and more controlled installation. Once the glass is placed on the clamp, it can be easily moved laterally, making the final adjustment straightforward.

The new version of the GlassFit CC-791 integrates Comenza’s regulation devices to ensure precise system adjustment under real on-site conditions.
The SLOT 360 mechanism, located at the base of the clamp, allows for correction of anchor misalignments of up to ±3 mm in any direction, absorbing common deviations during slab drilling. Meanwhile, the LEVEL 2D leveling system compensates for slab irregularities up to 5 mm, ensuring proper glass alignment.
These adjustments can be made even with the clamp already installed, contributing to a more efficient, accurate, and safe installation of the railing system.
Certified safety and regulatory compliance
The GlassFit CC‑791 system complies with the requirements of the Spanish Technical Building Code (CTE) for resistance verification of 1.2 kN/m, for spaces with a private use category (0.8 kN/m) and applying a partial safety factor of 1.5, as verified through physical testing according to the UNE 85‑238 standard for railings.
These tests, carried out in Comenza’s own laboratory, ensure that our systems provide safe and reliable performance.
With the new version of the GlassFit CC‑791, Comenza strengthens its range of glass railing solutions with a side‑fixing system that optimizes glass usage, rationalizes system components, and improves overall installation efficiency, always under criteria of safety, design, and technical reliability.
