Recently, the brand has enhanced its facilities by inaugurating a new climate-controlled laboratory, the only one in Spain focused on railing testing. In this 250-square-meter space, Comenza’s innovation team carries out both static and dynamic load tests, allowing them to launch products that have been tested under the most demanding conditions. In adherence to specific regulations, the brand conducts tests to ensure that the railings not only meet safety requirements but also strictly adhere to applicable standards and regulations.
A laboratory with unique features
- Climate control: One of the main unique features of this laboratory is the climate control, which allows tests to be conducted at a controlled temperature throughout the year. Climate control is particularly important for certain laminated glasses that exhibit different properties depending on the temperature.
- Testing for national and international regulations: Comenza’s laboratory is equipped to conduct railing tests under national and international regulations (Spain, France, Italy, Norway, or Sweden), covering different usage categories (private, public, and crowded areas) with both static load tests and dynamic load tests.
- Collaboration with external certification bodies: Comenza works closely with renowned international certification companies (CSTB, Applus, SINTEF, TÜV, etc.) to conduct testing and certification of their railing systems. Recently, the globally recognized German certifier TÜV Rheinland visited the new laboratory and certified Comenza’s profile and clamp systems according to Italy and Sweden regulations. This ensures that the company’s railing systems are tailored to and comply with the building regulations in each country where they are sold.
