Regulations and Safety
We develop railing systems that give professionals confidence and ensure safe, comfortable spaces for users, in compliance with the Spanish Technical Building Code (CTE).
Our systems offer the assurance of regulatory compliance and guarantee the required level of safety
A railing is a building element designed to protect people and objects from the risk of accidental falls. It is therefore considered by regulations to be a key safety element and must comply with strict technical requirements.
In Spain, compliance with the requirements of the Spanish Technical Building Code (CTE) is mandatory. However, due to a lack of knowledge or incorrect interpretation of the regulations, many railing systems fail to comply.
FAQs
How does the railing GlassFit CC-782 facilitate glass levelling and installation?
The GlassFit CC-782 system incorporates the Level 3D and Slot 180 devices to simplify installation and compensate for possible irregularities during assembly. Level 3D allows the clamp to be adjusted along the X, Y and Z axes and enables the glass to be correctly levelled on floors with slopes of up to 4.2% (2.4°).
Slot 180 allows deviations of up to ±2.5 mm in the centre of the anchor hole to be corrected. In addition, all adjustment points are accessible from the outside, and installation does not require drilling the glass.
Which impact resistance and dynamic load standards does the system comply with for use on wind-exposed external balconies?
It has been tested in accordance with UNE EN 12600 (soft-body impact) and ETAG 010. It also meets the dynamic load requirements set out in EN 1991-1-4 (wind action), achieving a pressure resistance of more than 2.5 kN/m² for a 21.52 mm glass.
What line load can the profile withstand when installed on a concrete slab with 21.52 mm toughened laminated glass?
The profile can withstand linear loads exceeding 3.0 kN/m in accordance with UNE 1991-1-1 and ETAG 001, ensuring its safe use in high-traffic areas (Category C5). Final resistance shall also depend on the type of anchoring and the thickness of the substrate.
What is the maximum permissible slab tolerance to ensure perfect glass alignment with the integrated levelling system?
The system accommodates slab level variations of up to ±20 mm through adjustment along two axes (horizontal and vertical). This allows imperfections to be corrected without compromising handrail alignment or the system’s watertightness.
