More than 500 metres of curved glass railings in the Naraya project
Located in the heart of Suresnes, on the outskirts of Paris, the Naraya project is a large-scale architectural development featuring curved glass railings, developed by Groupe Terrot, a specialist in enhancing the value of real estate assets. This 11,000 m² mixed-use development combines offices, retail spaces, residential units, and other premises, responding to the evolving needs of contemporary urban life.
The architectural firm responsible for the project was Via 35, while the installation of the metal systems and railings was carried out by TSO Reali, a leading company in metalwork and architectural metalwork in the Île-de-France region. The building’s curved balconies wrap around the façade, offering panoramic views of the Bois de Boulogne and enhancing the building’s integration with its surroundings.
Curved glass railing system installed
For this project, more than 500 linear metres of the GlassFit SV-1401 railing system were installed, one of Comenza’s most popular profile systems. One of the project’s main challenges was the integration of curved railings due to the configuration of the façade. The result is outstanding, with the railings creating a fluid, contemporary aesthetic that enhances the architectural value of the building while providing unobstructed views.
The GlassFit SV-1401 system incorporates Level-In, Comenza’s levelling system, which enables precise and efficient installation, reducing installation time by 25% compared with more conventional methods. Its fascia-mounted installation allows the glass to be installed from inside the building, eliminating the need for scaffolding or other auxiliary equipment, which represents a significant advantage in large-scale projects.
As a railing system featuring an anodized aluminium profile, it offers greater resistance and durability compared with conventional aluminium. However, the GlassFit SV-1401 system is also an ideal solution for enhancing the aesthetics of the project, thanks to its customization options, including seven different types of handrails. Regulatory compliance
The GlassFit SV-1401 system has been tested to ensure compliance with international standards, including those applicable in France. The system has been certified by the CSTB, which validates the reliability and safety of products used in the construction sector.
Regarding Spanish regulations, the GlassFit SV-1401 system also complies with the requirements of the Spanish Technical Building Code (CTE) for private-use (0.8 kN/m) and public-use (1.6 kN/m) categories. Compliance has been verified through physical testing in accordance with the UNE 85-238 standard for railings, using the strength verification method with a variable action and applying a partial safety factor of 1.5. Strength verification is an essential requirement to ensure the safety and regulatory compliance of a railing system.
