Custom solutions for a renovation that reveals the essential

Costa Adeje, in the south of Tenerife, is home to Hotel Jardines de Nivaria, set on an extensive site just a few metres from Fañabé Beach, with privileged views of the coastline and the Atlantic Ocean. The complex is arranged across several buildings positioned around the perimeter of the site, housing the hotel facilities and more than two hundred rooms, while leaving a large central area dedicated to leisure facilities, restaurants, landscaped areas, swimming pools and a spa.

In 2016, Hotel Jardines de Nivaria, originally built in the 1990s, underwent an extensive renovation to bring it in line with the high quality standards now expected of a five-star hotel in an extremely demanding tourism market.

The renovation of Hotel Jardines de Nivaria

The renovation has affected every area of the hotel, from the leisure facilities, enhanced with new shaded areas and dining spaces, to the communal areas, guest rooms and façades. Particularly noteworthy for its technical complexity and positive overall impact on the complex is the relocation of La Cúpula restaurant from street level to the outdoor terrace of the central building, following the reinforcement of the foundations and the construction of a new roof.

The project, developed by the Canary Islands-based studio ImpulsARQ, follows criteria of energy efficiency and environmental responsibility. Its strategy focuses on clarifying the spaces by removing unnecessary elements, highlighting what is essential and creating a coherent overall image through the standardization of details. Spatially, the design seeks to maximize the connection between interior and exterior, emphasizing the value of the gardens, landscapes and views.

Systems installed at Hotel Jardines de Nivaria

In line with this approach, replacing the old metal façade railings with tempered glass panels represents a significant functional and visual improvement, removing obstacles to natural light and providing exceptional views from the suites, rooms and terraces.

The choice of different solutions from the same product line, Comenza’s GlassFit SV-1301 system, makes it possible to meet a wide range of requirements, adapting the railing to each specific situation in terms of mounting, load requirements, trims and finishes. This not only preserves the project’s essential visual consistency but also reinforces it.

On the highest terraces and rooftops, including the restaurant’s new panoramic viewpoint, a version without a top rail was selected to maximize views and create a lighter visual appearance from the lower floors. At lower levels, the upper edge is finished with a round stainless steel handrail, providing comfortable and ergonomic support. Continuing this tailored approach, the R-Concept: Easycable system, featuring round AISI 316 stainless steel posts, was installed in the outdoor pool and spa areas.
