Costa Rica projects: glass railings in luxury villas

Costa Rica stands out for its privileged natural setting, where the Pacific coast, tropical vegetation and richly diverse landscapes come together. This environment has encouraged the development of residential projects designed to open up to the outdoors and make the most of the views and connection with the surrounding landscape.

In this type of home, glass railings provide protection for terraces, balconies, staircases and pool areas while maintaining visual continuity. Combining glass with compact fixing systems also contributes to discreet integration in spaces where openness to the outdoors plays a key role.

In this selection of Costa Rica projects, Comenza railing systems are integrated into four luxury villas: Casa Ama, Casa Cole, Casa Acqua Blu and Casa El Escondite. Different projects and solutions that share the same commitment to glass and the integration of fixing systems into the architecture.

Casa Ama: integration with the natural surroundings

Located in Quepos, in the province of Puntarenas, Casa Ama is a contemporary villa designed to maintain a close connection with its tropical surroundings. Its open design, with large glazed surfaces and spaces that extend outdoors, makes the most of the views and strengthens the connection between the home and the landscape.

For the railings, the GlassFit CC-801 clamp system in Black Finish was installed, a solution that minimizes the visual presence of the fixing elements and enhances the continuity of the glass. The black finish also helps integrate the clamps with other elements of the property, maintaining a discreet aesthetic that is consistent with the overall architectural design.

Casa Cole: views over the Gulf of Papagayo

Located in Playa Hermosa, in the province of Guanacaste, Casa Cole occupies an elevated position offering expansive views over the Gulf of Papagayo. The villa features open spaces, large glazed surfaces and outdoor areas designed to make the most of its location while maintaining a constant connection with the surrounding landscape.

The GlassFit CC-801 clamp system in Black Finish was installed for the railings. Its compact dimensions minimize the visual presence of the fixing elements and preserve the transparency of the glass, while the black finish integrates discreetly with the villa’s contemporary architectural language.

Casa Acqua Blu: arquitectura abierta hacia el Pacífico

Located in the hills of Escaleras, in the province of Puntarenas, Casa Acqua Blu is a contemporary villa characterized by its privileged position overlooking the Pacific Ocean and surrounded by tropical vegetation. Its architecture combines materials such as stone, steel and glass in open spaces designed to enhance the views and strengthen the connection between the home and the landscape.

For the railings, the GlassFit CC-801 clamp system in Black Finish was installed. Its minimal visual presence helps maintain the continuity of the glass surfaces on terraces and outdoor areas. A discreetly integrated solution that allows the views to remain one of the defining features of the property.

Casa El Escondite: two solutions for the same project

Located in Manuel Antonio, in the province of Puntarenas, Casa El Escondite is a villa integrated into a setting characterized by tropical vegetation and ocean views. Its design takes advantage of this location through spacious outdoor areas and open spaces that establish a direct connection with the landscape.

This project combines two Comenza railing systems: GlassFit CC-780 in a satin finish and GlassFit CC-775 in Black Finish. The use of different solutions allows the fixing system to be adapted to the requirements of each area of the villa, while maintaining glass as a common element and enhancing the overall visual continuity.

Black Finish: integration and design in Costa Rica projects

The Black Finish is one of the common features across these four villas. Black Finish is a black PVD finish applied to stainless steel using a vapour deposition process. In addition to providing a distinctive aesthetic, this treatment offers high resistance to various external factors:

  • Exposure to UV rays.
  • Corrosion.
  • Detergents and solvents.
  • Pollution.

This finish combines the performance of stainless steel with a black aesthetic that visually reduces the presence of clamps and adapters, facilitating their integration with other elements of the property.

Regulatory compliance: certified safety for private-use spaces

The GlassFit CC-780 and GlassFit CC-801 systems comply with the requirements of the Spanish Technical Building Code (CTE) for private-use spaces, while the GlassFit CC-775 system complies with CTE requirements for both private- and public-use spaces.
