Comenza balustrades bring transparency to the Asebanacio Office Complex
In Llorente de Tibás, to the north of the San José metropolitan area, we find the Asebanacio Office Complex. This is an initiative by the Asociación de Empleados del Banco Nacional de Costa Rica, designed to house the association itself as well as to accommodate other institutional offices. It currently houses more than 200 employees and various departments of the Costa Rican Ministry of Economy, Industry and Trade.
The interior design of the building has sought to create a spacious, airy environment bathed in natural light. Smooth ceramic finishes in neutral tones are therefore used, with walls finished in white.
The system installed at the Asebanacio Offices
A key feature of the Asebanacio Office Complex is the internal courtyard, which provides overhead light and ventilation to the heart of the building, making it the distinctive architectural element of the complex. For the central courtyard, Comenza’s GlassFit SV-1401 model was selected, featuring glass panels and stainless steel trim; its design, including the aluminium support profile, integrates perfectly into the building.
The staircases a rehighlighted by the exposed concrete. They are fitted with balustrades featuring GlassFit SV-1402 laminated glass panels, whose anodised aluminium profile allows for side mounting; in addition, the Handrail model handrails – a carefully considered design with rounded stainless steel profiles – enable clean and comfortable navigation of the junctions without compromising on a contemporary look.
The high transparency of the glass used in this balustrade system allows the overhead light to be utilised to the full, enhancing its diffusion both in the central atrium and in the stairwells, thereby reinforcing one of the project’s fundamental concepts.
